Here's what some clients are saying...

You get results with Sue. She brought out confidence and passion in my work.  She understands the process as a working actor herself, therefore knowing the road-blocks along the way.  Highly recommended!
— Leo Ash Evans (Broadway School of Rock + VO artist NYC)
Working with Sue has been unlike anything for me. To work with someone with such a giving, patient spirit and also to have an unbelievable talent and knowledge for dialects is rare, and I feel so lucky to be working with her.
— Frank De Julio (Co-writer Unnatural Acts, Gossip Girl, White Collar, Blue Bloods)
Sue makes the work easy, understandable, and is on par with the best in the business. She is a gold mine of knowledge and skill that I’m lucky to have had on my side for years and hopefully many more to come.
— Tommar Wilson (Broadway Hair, Book of Mormon)

About

I'm Suzanne, the accent guru. I am a voice and speech teacher, linguist, and actress. I received my BFA in acting from Carnegie Mellon University, my MA in applied linguistics from Concordia University in Montreal with a focus in pronunciation for actors. I am also a professional actress and voice over artist. Working as an actress and voice coach in NYC for 15 years, I saw that actors needed a quick and intuitive way to acquire accents, dialects, and accurate English pronunciation. Most systems used highly technical language, making it difficult for actors, or any learner for that matter, to integrate technical stuff into their performance or speech. In other words, acting while worrying about whether a consonant was alveo-palatal as opposed to alveolar was not helping.

So, I started to draw from Dudley Knight's work and developed a system that works with the learner's senses or how a sound *feels* in their vocal tract. I knew this would work intuitively, but I also knew I needed to understand the science behind it, get to the root of why we speak and learn speech the way we do. So, I went back to school and focused my theatrical speech experience through a linguistic lens. I combined theory with the sensory skills of performance and developed a way of bringing out a speaker's best speech. In fact, you can read my published research here!
